Who is Anita?

Anita is a PhD Candidate in Digital and Public History at the Center for Contemporary and Digital History at the (University of Luxembourg), with a project supported by the National Research Fund, Luxembourg (AFR-FNR PhD Grant, PhD project retained for funding from 2015 to 2018). She holds a Master’s degree in Comparative History from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a Bachelor’s degree in history from the same university. Anita’s Bachelor’s monograph on the relationship between history and new media won a prize from the Brazilian Society for Theory and History of Historiography and has been published as an eBook. Her Master’s dissertation compared the developments of digital history/digital historiography in Italy and the United States from 2001 to 2011. Her PhD focuses on migrant memories and narratives in Luxembourg, using digital public history methods to gather and analyse historical sources and to engage the interested community in the project. Anita is also a member of the Board of the Luxembourg Centre de Documentation sur les Migrations Humaines, member of the outreach committee of the Rede Brasileira de História Pública and Treasurer of the International Federation for Public History.
